This would seem to be how COVID, in general, can infect the brain. I suppose it could be true of Omicron as well. A question might be: Is the brain fog that is caused a very temporary, limited brain fog or is it more severe and long lasting? Also, can ivermectin ( or some other drug), fix it if it does come about?

My symptoms are an exact match as to how Shankara Chetty describes the Omicron symptoms. Given my immune system went walkabouts thirty years ago and never fully returned, I think I am in the wrong job. This is the third time I think I’ve had covid-19 in just over a year, although the second time was much milder. If I am correct, it means natural immunity is short lived, at least for me.

I know there is no such thing as too much vitamin C, since it passes out in urine. (It can cause stomach problems in a minority of people.) You may have said there was no upper limit to vitamin D as well. Chewing the vitamin C *tablets* for the general sour content that is said to repel viruses is something *I* do. I chew the vitamin D *capsules* too–although never having read where that helps.
It’s just boring being at home all the time, because I’m used to being busy. My wife and children were all ill the week before Christmas and I thought I’d gotten away with it. They are all ok now, more or less, so hopefully it won’t last much longer.

The story is confusing. It sounds like fear porn concerning infections, but fails to note that infection does not = actual disease. This seems like more of the casedemic. Also seems to blame the situation on unvaxxed children. Yet children are not in acute danger from an infection. The whole infection/case/disease/hospitalization scenario is murky here. Plenty of fear, though. No idea of just getting the damned bug and receiving appropriate outpatient treatment.

They have not updated their page since Delta, so I don’t know if Omicron is different.
As I recall, the dose for horses is 0.2 kg/kilogram. The recommendation for COVID is 0.4–0.6 mg/kg, so is two to three times as much as the dose for horses (on a per pound basis).
This dose is “one dose daily, take for 5 days or until recovered”.

114mg in the standard tube. the tube is graduated for a total weight of 1250lbs
1 mg per 11lbs on the tube.
The 12.5mg dosage used throughout India would be 137 on the tube. Recently two friends of mine actually got ivermectin prescribed and a prescription filled after much effort and cost. She at 100lbs was prescribed 12mg. that would be 132lbs on the tube. He at 165 18mg. 198lbs on the tube. Not recomending any dosage this is for reference.

Nebulizers may be an effective delivery tool to get vitamins or other treatments to where they are needed faster.
It may be we need to think more unconventional in terms of intervention. In the past I personally have inhaled vitamin c by shaking a bottle ( tablet form) and breathing in the fine dust. Vitamin c is somewhat acidic, so I’d only done this in moderation and I have to admit it helped with chest infections.

It seems that the handling of covid is increasing the pessimism about the future of the UK, as well as Brexit and everything else. Most people think that the UK has got about a year left before it breaks up.
I suspect that it is going to take just a little bit longer than that. But, people already feel this pessimistic, and inflation and the rise in taxes are yet to really kick in, but they are coming.
The lockdowns, furloughs, jabs and everything else will have to be paid for. The fall in living standards is already generational, with youngsters unable to get a secure job, a home of their own and to start a family – but a generalised fall in living standards will be new for most people.

Jobless Canadians who refuse to get vaccinated for COVID-19 could be shut out of unemployment benefits, warns Employment Minister Carla Qualtrough.
Speaking to Canadian Press, Qualtrough said as long as there’s a public health emergency, unvaccinated workers who lose hours or their job may not be eligible for employment insurance benefits.
Liberals tacked on the condition to a number of benefit payments, the news outlet reports, although those with a medical exemption are excluded.
The policy is intended to keep workplaces open and free of COVID outbreaks, and encourage vaccine uptake, Qualtrough said.
“As long as the collective public health of Canadians is jeopardized, and our economy is thereby threatened, we’re going to have to keep public health policy top of mind in our employment and labor and economic decision making,” she noted.
“And I don’t know how long that will be.”

I also read a comment by someone with an excellent sense of humor who said that Donald Trump must have sent Warren a blanket.
Both report their symptoms are mild and credit the jabs with preventing the coof from being much much nastier, and both join Trump in venturing into practicing medicine without a license by urging everyone regardless of their medical condition, allergies, ethical philosophy, religious beliefs or immune status, to get jabbed. Apparently, other people’s jabs won’t work unless we all do it.

A UC Irvine School of Medicine physician who filed a federal lawsuit claiming a natural immunity exemption to the university’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate has been fired for refusing the vaccine.
Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior at the medical school and director of the medical ethics program at UCI Health, revealed in a blistering blog post he was terminated Dec. 16 after nearly 15 years at the university.
“Two years ago I never could have imagined that the university would dismiss me and other doctors, nurses, faculty, staff, and students for this arbitrary and capricious reason,” he wrote in the post. “Everyone at the university seemed to be a fan of my work until suddenly they were not.
“Once I challenged one of their policies I immediately became a ‘threat to the health and safety of the community.’ No amount of empirical evidence about natural immunity or vaccine safety and efficacy mattered at all. The university’s leadership was not interested in scientific debate or ethical deliberation.”
Officials with UCI declined to discuss Kheriaty’s firing and UC system officials did not respond to requests for comment.
Lawsuit dismissed
Kheriaty, 45, filed a lawsuit in August in U.S. District Court against the University of California Board of Regents and Michael V. Drake, the system’s president, to block the vaccine mandate and seeking a return to work unvaccinated. He also requested the court declare the mandate unconstitutional.
“This policy is illogical and cannot withstand strict scrutiny or even a rational basis test because naturally immune individuals, like plaintiff, have at least as good or better immunity to the virus that causes COVID-19 than do individuals who are vaccinated,” the lawsuit states.
U.S. District Court Judge James V. Selna ruled against Kheriaty on Dec. 8, stating the UC system vaccine mandate is “rationally related” to stemming the spread of COVID-19.
Kheriaty has appealed the ruling to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. “There are some legal questions the court needs to answer about the limits of mandates during public health emergencies,” said Kheriaty, who remains optimistic he might yet win his court case.

Don’t know if this interesting tidbit is relayed at the linked article but there actually was a Masonic Lodge existing in Nauvoo before the Mormons built their Temple. As one of the few countries that still practices punitive democracy, I expect they will get their accountability at some point. In that country, the prime minister is generally the fall guy — 27 prime ministers in the new millennium speaks to that fact.
But what has received less attention is the results of the vaccination campaign. South Korea is one of the most vaccinated countries on the planet: 86% of the total population has had at least one dose, 40.3% of those have had their boosters, too. They are near peak vaccination considering the campaign to vaccinate those under 12 has just begun and those under 5 cannot be vaccinated.
If ever there was a country that could prove vaccinations work, this should be it, right? Wrong.

Georgia deploys National Guard to hospitals and testing centers as the state reports record-high COVID cases
(ATLANTA) — Georgia is planning to send the National Guard to hospitals and testing sites as the state set a single-day record for COVID-19 cases.
In a statement Wednesday, Gov. Brian Kemp announced that of the 2,500 troops that will eventually be deployed, a total of 196 will begin assisting on Jan. 3.
About 100 are being sent to hospitals while 96 will assist the Department of Public Health at testing sites.
Kemp said that over the next few days, the Georgia Department of Community Health will provide assignments to the remaining 2,300 troops depending on the centers that are in need of the most assistance.
“I want to reassure Georgians that we’ve gotten through this before, and we will do it again,” Kemp’s statement read.
“As we work diligently to provide aid and cut down on people’s wait times at testing locations, we urge Georgians to be patient and be compassionate to your fellow neighbors.”

When I looked this up with Google, it is actually a story from a couple of days ago.
I usually glance at the headlines of the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. I am fairly certain that “National Guard” never made it into the headlines on the newspaper. There have been articles about more COVID cases, but I never got as far as reading them. I could look at charts online. I suppose if I listened to television news, I would have noticed this story.
In my county, the percentage of regular hospital beds used by COVID patients has recently increased to 13% (from 8%). The percentage of ICU hospital beds used by COVID patients increased to 21% (from 16%).
There are a lot of cases around, but most of them have not made it to the hospitals, at least yet.
The story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution is different.
What is mentioned, down in the text of the article, is that the state is planning to spend $100 million to hire contract hospital workers and will deploy about 200 Georgia National Guard troops to “beleaguered hospital and coronavirus testing centers.”
It also says that the Grady Memorial is so strained that that it might soon have to decide whether it is necessary to postpone elective procedures to ensure that there are beds for emergencies.
What better place to pick up a Covid-19 infection than waiting in line to get a Covid-19 test? Probably more germs floating around there than at Rod Stewart’s Christmas party.

Are they attempting to inflate numbers, provide a false sense of security, or both?”

My work (plastics manufacturing) sent a memo saying if the OSHA mandate passes then starting in February we’ll have to be vaccinated or take a weekly test. They are allowing rapid tests. Factory floor workers will have to take them in the breakroom before their shift with a supervisor watching and people who go into the office will have to do a test on camera. Sounds so humiliating, ridiculous, and unsustainable. Memo suggested we try to buy our tests now incase of test shortages. About 1/3 of the workforce is unvaccinated and we already have trouble getting enough workers to replace the retiring boomers who have been there for decades. We hired many to cross train before the old workers retired but the new ones don’t stay so that knowledge gets lost. The C19 has made the situation worse. I’m a hybrid worker going in once a week and will have to test. Unsure how I’ll be navigating this. My plan ignore all covid policies and continue to do my job until they shutoff badge access. Then I’ll celebrate the collapse of BAU.

After that trick, now they are proposing to let people work (and I repeat ‘let people work’) only if they are vaccinated (I mean regularly vaccinated so every 6 months a recall) or if they have recovered from Covid, but if they have recovered, anyway after 6 months they need to take the vaccine (so it is a short win).
So please be aware of the trick they are preparing for you.

I knew of someone who was asked to take experimental drugs as they were in any case at the terminal stage of cancer.
They agreed, thinking they might as well do something which may help others, and were placed in a large, sealed, tank with the drugs infusing the air.
They suffered horribly by all accounts, nasty side-effects. The often fainted.
It reminded me of the accounts of early, largely futile and painful experiment on cats and dogs in the 19th century.
All one can say is that in her case it was completely voluntary.

I got to see Yes play in Amagasaki about eight or nine years ago. A mate of mine who is a fan of them bought tickets for him and his wife, but she was unable to go so I went along. Nice show. Very nostalgic. Jon Davison sounded just like Jon Anderson if you didn’t listen too closely. But without Anderson, and to an extent without Rick Wakeman, they seemed like a cover band.

On the one hand, Scotland and Wales are losing seats and England gaining, but on the other, population expansion, which will decide the new boundaries, tends to be in urban areas that favour Labour anyway. So the projections on the new boundaries and the latest polls leave Labour in need of SNP support to form a government, which would likely entail Indy2. Any ‘Brexit’ Tory euphoria has rapidly given way to reality over the past two years.

From the long-term decline in coal consumption in Alberta, it looks like coal production is reaching diminishing returns in Alberta. This is happening in the US as well, which is why I expect that this is happening in a whole lot of places in the world.
No one can write an article about depleting coal production and the fact that the cost of coal production is making it no longer suitable as an electricity fuel. Instead, they flip the story around, to make the reduction in coal consumption look like something attainable that we as citizens have “chosen” to do. It becomes a very salable, happily ever after story, covering up the real problem.
Yeah, why would we expect an honest assessment.
The wind and solar story are so far out of the realm of reality they would not be worth listening to if anyone did an ounce of research or thought analysis. It’s -38 on the winter solstice, the sun will show itself for about 6.3 hours today and reach a peak of 11 degrees above the horizon. Solar when it is needed most just isn’t there. A wind analysis of the entire province shows there is only enough wind in the south east corner of the province to be economical. Nuclear is capital intensive, very capital intensive to build and start up, every big capital project we have done in this province over the past 20 years have gone twice the time and three times the budget. A couple billion dollar project stopped mid build and got demolished before even competition (look at Suncor’s Voyager project, 2 billion in and it was all ripped out and blown up). We have no hydro as we are a prairie province.
We have gas and coal, that’s it but it is crippled by bad policy and bad management.
I see a lot of candles in my future.

Before the flight, Fotieo told CNN she took two PCR tests and about five rapid tests, all of which came back negative. But about an hour and a half into the flight, Fotieo started to feel a sore throat.
“The wheels started turning in my brain and I thought, ‘OK, I’m going to just go take a test.’ It was going to make me feel better,” Fotieo told CNN. “Immediately, it came back positive.”

If Big Pharma were not hiding behind the Govt’s EUA, every single one of them would be forced out of business by all class action and civil lawsuits from all the injuries and deaths that have taken place from the drug makers, covid vaccines.
They have to keep the DEFCON 5 levels going at all times or people would just ignore the whole thing. In Florida most people don’t bother wearing a mask.
They must also vilify alternative and safe treatments because they are cheap to produce and sell. Big Pharma would be out billions if not trillions of dollars in profits.

Nearly 1,000 Massachusetts employees have left state service as a result of non-compliance with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Gov. Charlie Baker’s executive order, which applied to 41,629 Executive Department employees, took effect in October. The mandate survived legal challenges filed by some unions.
New data released by the Baker administration shows that 97.1% of the employees have complied with the mandate or received exemptions.
Religious exemptions were granted to 130 of the 2,164 employees who applied for one. Medical exemptions were approved for 126 of the 394 employees who applied.
Another 128 employees are classified as “in progress” and 72 are serving a suspension as a result of non-compliance.
Nine-hundred eighty-eight people have left state jobs as a result of the mandate, data shows. That includes 332 voluntary resignations and 656 who lost their jobs involuntarily.
The involuntary dismissals include 160 part-time contractors from the Municipal Police Training Committee, the administration said.

China is doubling down on its COVID-zero policy in advance of the Beijing Olympics.
The 13 million residents of Xi’an have been ordered to stay at home for the last seven days, and many are complaining they have no food left.
Beijing has reportedly begun punishing local officials for failing to keep the outbreak under control.
The city of Xi’an in China’s Shaanxi province entered its seventh day of lockdown on Wednesday, as the government imposed some of the country’s strictest pandemic curbs since the initial COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan.
With the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics just weeks away, China has doubled down on its COVID-zero policy of shutting down entire cities to snuff out even a single coronavirus case.
Xi’an, a city with 13 million residents, has reported 960 locally transmitted cases so far since December 9. That may seem minuscule compared to the daily infections seen in Europe or the US, but Xi’an’s outbreak is one of China’s worst in its pandemic history.
On December 23, the city announced it would confine its residents at home. As the lockdown continues, many say they are running out of food and pleading for help on social media. Insider noted that a number of Weibo posts were deleted or removed from trending searches, though it’s unclear who took them down.

Xian is a city with much manufacturing. This manufacturing cannot be doing well, either. And the people may not do well after they have been starving. They may more easily succumb to other illnesses.
The shutdown does reduce China’s coal use, however. This might be a major plus, when there is not enough coal for all uses this winter. There is no need to point out the production shortfall and lack of adequate imports. Instead, the problem can be blamed on COVID. Also, the shutdown will help reduce the need for rolling blackouts later.
